Service:Information about Waxing add another, change
For all Waxing services, there must be @ least 1/4 inch length of hair growth.

For first time waxing, 1/2 inch is best.
Please do not clip or trim hair to be waxed.

Myth: Removing hair makes more hair grow back, or makes it thicker and darker.

Fact: Wrong! Oh so wrong! This seems to be the worst and most pervasive myth of all. You already have all the hair you will ever have. The color and the texture are determined by your genes. Removing hair with wax cannot change that. The amount of hair that grows back after waxing can be changed, but only for the better! Less hair will grow back, not more! As hair grows, it leaves behind cells to regenerate. When you repeatedly (yes, repeatedly) pull hair, you can lucky and catch them when they haven't left any cells behind to regenerate new hairs. Repeating the process regularly is the key to seeing the best results. The more waxing, the more hair will be gone forever. Look at it this way: if waxing made more hair grow, and it was thicker and darker, you would see a lot of men waxing their heads!

What To Do Before Your Waxing Service:
  • DO NOT apply oils or lotions to the area to be waxed.

DO NOT use any AHA’s or exfoliating products 2 days prior to service.

  • NOTIFY YOUR ESTHETICIAN if you are using RETIN-A or RENOVA.
  • I will NOT be able to perform waxing services on ANYONE using RETIN-A or RENOVA within the last two 2 weeks.  Scarring and lifting of the skin may occur if a waxing service is performed on an area where RETIN-A or RENOVA is used.

What To Do After Your Waxing Service:

    • AVOID application of HEAT to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. This includes hot baths, sauna and steam baths.

  • AVOID SUNBATHING for 12 to 24 hours after waxing. This includes any strong UV light exposure or sun bed treatments.
  • AVOID applying highly FRAGRANCED products to the waxed area.
  • This includes perfume, scented body lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics or feminine hygiene sprays.
  • Only use the professional products recommended by your aesthetician who performed the waxing service.

  • AVOID using HARSH ABRASIVES or exfoliators in the waxed area. This includes any AHA (glycolic acids) products.

The only exception is an AHA product recommended by your aesthetician.

***If you are prone to in-grown hairs, loofah mittens or exfoliant scrubs can be used ONCE the hair has begun to grow back.***

  • AVOID applying high SPF SUN BLOCKS to the waxed area for 12 to 24 hours. After the 12 to 24 hours, a sun block must be worn.

Sunscreen chemicals can be irritating to the newly waxed skin. This includes Self-Tanning products and Tan Accelerators.

  • Any REDNESS of the skin should disappear within 6 to 8 hours after the waxing treatment.

    Slight redness is normal and indicates that the hair was removed from the root;

rather than superficially broken off, as in shaving.

For BEST RESULTS repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks.

Because the hair growth rate is different on each person, you may need to come in before or after the 4 to 6 week time period.

It is recommended that you wax prior to your skin care treatment.

In the event that you are having an intensive skin peel, waxing should be performed 2 - 3 days prior to your peel.
